Yes, the title is misleading but it got your attention. This is actually regarding Lawrence Liu’s report from the Office 12 Curriculum Design Summit where Microsoft TS and consultants got together to review the new training material for Office 12. This product is a year out, is incomplete at best, so why should you care? Well, have you seen the screenshot? This is one of the most ambitious releases since 1997, with a completely new interface, behavior and look. If you’re in the SMB you know the folks that only know how to do things on their computer one way – and that one way is usually documented and taped to the monitor. If a new prompt comes up, or they get a question they can’t figure out they pick up the phone and call the IT department.
So get on the beta (mentioned how to get on it the other day) get training early and take a look at some of the PDC presentations to get a starting point:
