This Weekends SBS Show & Updates

This weekends show, at least for Chris and me, is somewhat of a religious experience. The one and only Susan Bradley is going to be a guest on our SBS Show and I just cannot believe the response we have received so far. I've literally received questions from all corners of the world - UK, Germany, Russia, USA, Australia and Japan. (407) 965-2945 The SBS Show voicemail was flooded and I will be spending Sunday writing them down, categorizing and putting together a show worthy of her holiness. We're going to (try) structure the show around patch management. The Wednesday show appears to be gaining a lot of popularity. I appreciate all the nice things everyone has to say. We're also very happy that Susanne Dansey of SBSBPI is joining us when time permits. She is not an MCSE but has a good deal of experience in business, community initiatives and understanding the retail channel so hopefully you like how she complements our tech conversations. That and she adds much needed class to our show. We will be renaming and separating the SBS Show mid-week broadcasts to give everyone the ability to subscribe to the one you wish to hear the most. Ever since I offered to do that I've received so much praise that would make you think I actually did it Not the case. We need a name for the show. I've kind of been calling it the "This Week in SBS" but I can imagine that there are other ideas. I sort of hope there are. So, what do you like, or rather, tell us if you can think of anything better: This Week in SBS Wonderful World of SBS World Wide SBS SBS and 20 Fun'N'SBS Small Business Tech Lunch SMB Tech Talk SBS Bash SBS Smackdown Specify your own value: SBS Roundup SBS In A Minute SBS To Go SBS Fast Chat SBS Chat SBS Now SBS Roundtable SBS Report Choices, choices everywhere. SBS roundup or This week in sbs or maybe SBS Bash except it has a negative sound to it.

The problem with your choices is that none of them make it VERY clear that this is a podcast, an mp3 talk show, a radio event.. something to think about.

I know its weak but try to stick in something definitive in the title. “podcast”, “show”, “talk” - think of how you would tag yourself del.icio.us boy!!!!

SBS Weekly Podcast, Weekly SBS Podcast, SBS This Week.

Out of your choices though, SBS To Go.

I like SBS Weekly better than any of the frontpage stuff. SBS Weekly podcast. It says everything.

I like ‘SBS Update’ or ‘SBS Weekend Update’.

Other names that come to mind (courtesy of sleep deprivation and huffing Tetrafluorethane) are:

Full-Frontal SBS
It’s a Wonderful SBS
SBS Central
Companyweb Corner
SBS Cafe (or Cafe SBS)
Sleepless in SBS
and my personal favorite,
The V: Drive

SBS weekly here as well. You can always call it the SBS Show but have a difference between weekly and your mega-event weekend shows.

I also would not separate the tree. Most your downloads come from the browsers, no? Well, just add an extra one for just the short stuff and have a different color and time displayed.

SBS Weekly or SBS Roundup

SBS Bash is perfect but I think Microsoft would kill you. Maybe SBS Rant? Less offensive.

why even use SBS? Your conversations are not all about SBS, why would you name the show after it?

SBS 409 - Kind of like 409 the cleaner, you clear up whats really happening out there. Too big of a strech?

I second Windows Server Weekly over SBS Weekly for the same reason previous reader mentioned it. I also like the roundup but something about it just doesn’t seem right.

Sysadmin Weekly. Weekly Admin Talk. you get the idea.

I agree with many comments having heard most of your podcasts, they are all about servers, consulting, management not ONLY SBS so why call it SBS anything?

By the way, we have decided on a name:

SBS Weekly

It will be a 20 minute podcast featuring news in the system administrator land, consultant/end user opportunities to get more technology for less and an invitation to come and play with other system administrators in the smallbiz land.

Why paint yourself into a corner. If you call it a weekly you better deliver or its a bust. If you keep it as a simple “Show” you can set the schedule and alter it to whatever you want. The loyal fans will stick with you. Keep up the great content! Vlad Rocks (not talking about in your head)!
