apologize for the long delay in an update.

the funcave has a full write-up, but...suffice to say...

despite the uncanny similarities in the info that was asked, the contact to one of my clients did not come as a result of the tech makeover promotion.

so…no worries there.

nope...it came from another group at ms.

so, all you partners can rest easier tonight knowing that, for no reason whatsoever, some group from ms can go around you at any time, and offer to put your clients in touch with your competition...like the vw brigade.

as queenie would say...

loverly!

I'll call BS on it too. Microsoft has never called any of my clients unless it was used by me as a reference for the certification.

I've had this happen but they were just confirming who the client was, who they worked with, what their needs were. It seemed like they just wanted to confirm the nomination.

Wow. You know how everyone is always upset at Google and what they may be able to do.. nobody ever mentions Microsoft in the IT space. Microsoft owns development, financing, support. We're effectively reduced to the sales force and level 0 tech support for clients. With all that is going on I do not see how you can survive in this game with Microsoft as your "partner" if these cases become more prevalent.

I had the SAME thing happen and my client conferenced me in. Apparently they wanted to make sure that the work they needed done was taken care of by a partner with the most competence in that field.

They were going to take my customer and send them over to another partner. Great.

First Dell.
Now Microsoft.

He is a little sketchy and I hope you are wrong about this. Only problem I see is that Microsoft partners are now established businesses in technology and consulting so they will pick a new vendor.

Sorry Vlad, we dumped Dell a long time ago because of this behavior.
