Since it is November 30, what about trying the RTM versions of both Vista and Office..... Maybe that would help the slow/sluggish issues.....

Funny, I was just having this conversation with my MSFT Partner rep today. I explained that I'm using vista on my laptop because I decided to eat the dogfood (after my old drive failed a couple weeks ago), but I chose to stick with Office 2003 because I like it much better.

I don't expect to see widespread Vista adoption with my small business customers for at least a year. The only machines that will get it are those purchased from OEM's who have to ship it.

And Office.... hmm, Office... I've got a few customers with Software Assurance and the free upgrade. I just don't see any of them getting enough value out of the upgrade to do it any time soon.

Most of my customers are still in the "Office 97 is good enough for me" mindset still anyways...

I did come up with a workaround for the UAC that is working well for me, but only because of my comfort level with the command line.

http://www.sunfiresolutions.com/blog/2006/11/vista-tech-tip_27.html has my workaround shown, but it relies on doing things from the CLI.
