So how do I sell it? Bah another licensing "thing" to learn. Off to the partner portal for some research.

Sarah,

I agree, it is cool. I am not suggesting at all Microsoft is doing anything wrong or directionless (Mesh) here, this move actually is a breath of fresh air and to be honest just makes plain sense.

I do think they are going to face some scrutany over the bundling, given their track record, but it's nice to see Microsoft back on the ball and it's nice to see that they are making software subscriptions actually work in a way that produces a guaranteed benefit for everyone, unlike SA which is largely seen as the "upgrade to next release for free" program.

Oh, c'mon - this is cool. I was having coffee with a friend today when I read this news. She's not tech-stupid (married to a programmer), but not a techie geek herself either. I told her about Equipt and she thought it sounded great. Esp. the part where you always have the latest software - that was the key selling point for her. I then asked her if she had ever heard of or used Google Docs and she said "that sounds familiar, I but haven't used it." I told her it was an online office suite and she kind of just gave me this blank look, then shrugged. ha.
